Today I chose to post a pen and ink I illustrated a few years back based on the idea of Chivalry and self sacrifice. Depicted in my illustration is a couple reunited after the Knight has rescued his love "Elaine" from the hands of a ruthless attacker. This leads me to opine how , particularly for us artist, ideas of selflessness, bravery, sacrifice, wholesomeness , love and above all, truth, should be consistently portrayed for all to see. The world today seems to scoff at the God-given roles of manhood and the femininity of women which are wonderful traits to be cherished in order to build up our society. That said, it should be noted that the gifts of true loyalty, strength, honesty , freedom and ever other good characteristic to be named have all originated from one individual as can be seen in Colossians 1:13 : "...who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son : in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins..." That person, that "Son", is of course, as one reads the entire chapter, The Lord Jesus Christ. So, here is to the standard that art should uphold- the very same standard that God held when he spoke all things into existence... "and behold, it was very good."
